Enem 2024

A student from Belo Jardim has reached a remarkable milestone, becoming the only individual in Pernambuco to score a perfect 1,000 on the essay section of the 2024 National High School Exam (Enem).

Across Brazil, only 12 candidates achieved a perfect essay score in the 2024 Enem. This studentโ€™s success places Pernambuco on the map as one of the states producing top-performing students in a year where the competition was tougher than ever.

The essay topic, โ€œChallenges for Valuing African Heritage in Brazil,โ€ required deep cultural awareness, critical thinking, and structured writing.

The Enem essay is assessed on five criteria, each graded out of 200 points. To achieve perfection, a candidate must demonstrate excellence in every area:

  • Clarity in Communication: Ideas must be presented logically and fluently.
  • Understanding of the Theme: Staying focused on the topic and addressing it comprehensively.
  • Coherence and Argumentation: Organizing thoughts in a structured way that flows naturally.
  • Mastery of the Language: Using grammar, vocabulary, and style effectively.
  • Proposed Solution: Offering a well-developed and practical intervention to address the issue discussed.

Reaching 1,000 is no small feat, considering that the national average essay score in 2024 was 660.

The Ministry of Education revealed key statistics about this yearโ€™s results:

  • 12 Perfect Scores: A significant drop from previous years.
  • States Represented: Alagoas, Cearรก, Federal District, Goiรกs, Maranhรฃo, Minas Gerais, Pernambuco, Rio de Janeiro, Rio Grande do Norte, and Sรฃo Paulo.
  • Public vs. Private Schools: Only one perfect score came from a public school, with the rest from private institutions.

The success of this student from Belo Jardim offers inspiration for others across the state and beyond. It serves as proof that with hard work, determination, and the right support, students can achieve their dreams.

Pernambuco celebrates this milestone as an example of what is possible when talent and opportunity meet.

Miloลก Nikolovski
I am Milos Nikolovski, a journalist with an insatiable curiosity for global affairs, cultural intersections, and the stories that define our time. My work spans continents, covering the pulse of international relations, the evolving dynamics between the United States and Brazil, the complexities of politics, and the deeper narratives found in travel, food, and everyday life. Every story I tell comes from direct experience, firsthand conversations, and an unfiltered approach to truth. I do not chase sensationalism or empty headlines. My focus remains on substanceโ€”on the issues that shape nations, the policies that drive decisions, and the cultural shifts that reveal where societies are headed. Whether dissecting diplomatic strategies, unraveling the economic forces linking Brazil and the United States, or walking through the markets of Sรฃo Paulo to uncover the hidden layers of a cityโ€™s identity, I believe in journalism that informs and challenges perspectives. Travel plays a crucial role in my work, not as an escape but as a means to engage with the world. The places I visit are not vacation spots; they are living, breathing spaces filled with voices, struggles, and triumphs. Whether exploring the political landscapes of Latin America, tracing historical legacies in Europe, or uncovering the latest food revolution in an unexpected corner of the world, my mission remains the sameโ€”to document, to report, and to bring forward stories that matter. Beyond borders and breaking news, my work is guided by core values: honesty, independence, and accessibility. Journalism must be fearless, unfiltered, and unbound by external pressures. I write for those who seek more than surface-level narratives, for those who value depth over distraction, and for those who refuse to settle for anything less than the full picture.
